Writing a request that gets what you meant
The builder does what you say. So the skill is saying it — and it is a smaller skill than it sounds.
Name the thing you mean
Not "fix the top bit" but "make the shop name at the top bigger". You do not need the technical word for it; you need the words a customer would use pointing at the screen.
Say what should stay
"Move the phone number above the menu. The rest stays the same." That last sentence is an instruction and it is followed. It is the single most useful habit on this page.
One change at a time, when it matters
Five changes in one message is fine and often quicker. But if a change is delicate — prices, a form, anything customers will act on — ask for it alone so you can see exactly what moved.
Say the thing you actually want, not the fix you imagined
"The menu is hard to use on a phone" gets you a better answer than "make the menu a drawer", because the second one has already decided how, and it might not be the best how.
Say which preview you mean
A change to the installed phone app is invisible on the computer preview. If you say "in the phone app…" the preview switches itself to Phone app so you can see it; if you mean the website, say website.
The mistake that costs the most
Asking for an adjustment and getting a redesign. The builder is instructed to change what you named and leave its neighbours standing, and to prefer the smaller of two edits that both satisfy the request. If it ever does more than you asked, undo it and say the same thing more narrowly — and tell us, because that is a fault at our end rather than yours.

What if it takes something away that I needed?
It should tell you in the same sentence when doing exactly what you asked removes something — for instance when removing a top menu removes the only way to sign in. If it did not say so, undo and ask again more narrowly.
Does a longer message cost more?
Slightly, but not enough to be worth shortening at the cost of clarity. Being vague costs far more, because you pay for the wrong change and then the fix.

Access is by invitation and a person reads every request. The founder test is free, takes a few minutes, and tells you what you are getting before you commit to anything.
