Going live
Ask for a review when the app is ready for real customers. A person reads it, and you get plain notes or approval.
The order it happens in
- Your app has a private preview address from the minute it exists. Share it with whoever you like.
- When it is ready, request a review.
- A person reads the app — not a checklist run by a machine.
- You get approval, or notes in words you can act on.
- It goes live at a public address, or at your own domain if you have connected one.
What gets looked at
Whether the app does what it says, whether anything collects personal details it should not, whether payment is handled properly, and whether an app claiming to be a phone app is more than a website in a box. That last one is Apple’s rule and ours too, and it is checked twice in deliberately different ways.
If it comes back
Fix what the notes say and resubmit. A resubmission after a correction is not charged again — the fee buys a release, not a press of the button, and that work is not finished while the app is still coming back for changes.
After it is live
The preview address keeps working, so you can keep building while customers use the live one. Going live is not the end of changing things.

How long does a review take?
It is a person, so it depends on the day. Submitting something obviously unfinished is the slowest route — the notes come back and the clock restarts.
Can I go live without a review?
No. Nothing reaches a public address without an approved review. We are answerable for what these apps do.
